Gun-wielding individuals have fatally shot an educator and kidnapped no fewer than 25 pupils in an attack on a female high school in Nigeria's northwestern region, according to police.
The armed faction stormed the Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School in Kebbi State's Maga area at roughly 4 in the morning local time on Monday, authorities reported.
The attackers "engaged police personnel on duty in a shootout" before breaching the school's outer barrier and seizing the students from their living quarters, an official report indicated.
