Area Police
Roughly fifty vehicles have been smeared with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Vehicles, walls and mailboxes were marked, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they stated in a release.
Law enforcement say they were contacted during the night on Wednesday night, when a man observed that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored substance.
The fluid had been applied in the pattern of a swastika, they stated.
Law enforcement then located numerous other vandalized automobiles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.
These symbols are banned in Germany under laws prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.
Law enforcement state initial examinations suggest the substance was probably human blood.
"Currently there is no indication as to where it came from; authorities are currently not aware of any physical harm in connection with the incident," they commented.
Municipal representatives announced they were working "to resolve the incident" and have appealed to the community for tips.
A senior official commented the incident made him stunned and required to be solved quickly.
"This incident strikes at the very heart of Hanau and revives the trauma of the extremist violent incident five years ago," he posted on online, mentioning the killing of nine individuals by a gunman focusing on residents of immigrant origin in February 2020.
